Terms of Use

Version 2026-09-02.2

These terms cover the “Your Library” feature and related community features on cineq.in (“CINEQ Library”), operated by DNV ARC (“we”, “us”). By signing in you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t sign in. General use of the rest of cineq.in is also subject to these terms.

1. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 16 years old. Sign-in is via Google; you are responsible for keeping that account secure and for activity under your CINEQ Library account. One person per account.

2. Your content

“Your content” means the ratings, reviews and notes you add. You keep ownership of it. You grant CINEQ a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute your content as part of operating and promoting the service — including showing your ratings and review text publicly, with your first name and Google profile picture only, in aggregated community features such as “Viewers Choice”, and through any future CINEQ API or embeds. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared or cached and for anonymous aggregate statistics. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to post it.

3. Acceptable use

Do not post content, or behave in a way, that is:

  • unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening or intimidating;
  • hateful or discriminatory on the basis of race, religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality;
  • sexually explicit, or infringing anyone’s rights;
  • spam, advertising, links, or bulk / automated content; impersonation of any person; scraping; or any attempt to break, overload or misuse the service.

Reviews should be your own genuine opinion about the film.

4. Moderation

We may remove any content, and suspend or close any account, at our discretion — with or without notice — including for breaking these terms. Public reviews carry a “Report” option; reported content is reviewed and may be removed.

5. Profiles, following & what others can see

You get a CINEQ @username and a profile. Other signed-in users can find you by name or username and follow you (following is one-way — no approval, no follow-back required). Your activity — the films you rate, review or log as watched — and your follower / following lists are visible only to people who follow you (and to you). To anyone who doesn’t follow you, your profile shows only your display name, username and picture. The full contents of your library page (search, filters, drafts) stay private to you. Your email address is never shown to anyone. Blocking a specific follower isn’t available yet; for now the controls are unfollowing and deleting your account.

6. Ending your use

You can permanently delete your account and all its data at any time from Account → Delete on the library page. Deletion is immediate and also removes your reviews from community features. We may discontinue the feature at any time.

7. Film data

Film titles, posters and details come from TMDB and are used under TMDB’s terms. CINEQ is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

8. No warranty; liability

CINEQ Library is provided “as is”, with no guarantee of availability or accuracy. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of content; our total liability to you is limited to ₹1,000. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a material change we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you use the feature. The current version date is shown at the top of this page.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Hyderabad, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
